Zion Lutheran Church was organized December 28, 1890 and became affiliated with the Lutheran Synod of Ohio, with a group of German immigrants as its nucleus. Rev. Paul Groschupf, a circuit riding Lutheran missionary, probably gave the additional stimuli and preached the first sermon in the church building. This German congregation struggled almost to the dying stage when Rev. T. A. Schoenberg, a Field Missionary, came in 1912 and reorganized the church into an English speaking work....
